Method for Attracting Higher Paying Google AdSense Ads
Posted by admin in Internet Marketing on May 27th, 2009
Okay, that’s enough with the disclaimers, let’s get down to the business of making money. Google lets advertisers bid anywhere from a minimum of .05 per click right up to a whopping $100. It should be pretty obvious that you are not going to get rich running .05 cent ads on your site, but getting a few $100 ads, or even some $10, $20, or $30 ads can’t be a bad thing, right?
Now the problem is, Google is pretty closed-mouthed about who is paying what for their ads, and there is no real way to determine which words pay the most per AdSense click.
But ah, far away in a parallel universe we find another Pay-Per-Click provider called Overture. It seems that Overture is less sensitive about releasing their top-priced words and anyone who cares to find out what web sites are paying for words and phrases can do so by simply using Overtures tattle-tale special pricing tool . And it couldn’t be easier to use. You simply type in a key word or phrase and the tool returns a list of advertisers using that word and how much they are paying. It even shows you the actual ad.
Oh what a treasure trove of wealth-grabbing results this can be if you know what can be done with that priceless information.
Consider this possibility
Any key word or phrase that’s worth big bucks on Overture is probably worth big bucks on Google as well, maybe even more, right? So try this experiment:
Enter the phrase SEO Services without the quotes in the Overture tool . When I entered that phrase on the day I wrote this article, I was found a company called SEO Inc. that was willing to pay $8.01 per click, followed by SEO Advantage at $8.00, and Online Web Consultants at $6.50. Other bidders appeared below them in the $3.00 range straight on down to some who wouldn’t pay more than a dime per click.
Now, if a company is willing to pay that much money for a click on Overture, it is probably willing to pay that or more on Google. Even if that particular company isn’t advertising on Google, you can be pretty sure that the same key phrase is drawing near the same bid price from other companies who do advertise on Google. So what that means is there is no way that you can possibly afford NOT to have some web pages posted somewhere that are targeted to those sweet-paying words.
All you have to do is use Overture’ s pricing tool to find the highest-paying key words that are related to your site and then optimize those words to start pulling similar ads. If all goes to plan, you can perhaps double, triple, or even quadruple your AdSense revenue without needing any increase in traffic or click-through rate.
Russian firm invests $200million in Facebook
A Russian Internet company has invested 200 million dollars in Facebook in a deal that values the US social networking giant at 10 billion dollars, the companies announced.
Besides purchasing a nearly two percent equity stake in Facebook, Digital Sky Technologies (DST) is also offering to buy at least 100 million dollars of common stock held by current and former Facebook employees, they said Tuesday.
Facebook said DST, however, would not be represented on the board of the fast-growing social network, which signed up its 200 millionth member recently but has yet to turn a profit.
DST’s purchase of a 1.96 percent stake in preferred stock in privately held Facebook is the largest cash-raising exercise by the Palo Alto, California-based company in two years.
US computer software giant Microsoft bought a 1.6 percent stake in Facebook for 240 million dollars in 2007, a deal that at the time valued the company at 15 billion dollars.
While its number of users has grown at an amazing clip, Facebook, unlike other Web giants such as Amazon, eBay, Google and Yahoo!, has yet to prove how it is going to translate traffic into cash.
DST chief executive Yuri Milner said he expected his company’s experience running social networks in other countries would prove profitable to Facebook.
“We’ve invested in five social networks in Europe,” he said in a conference call. “They’ve been able to monetize better than Facebook because the companies are further along the curve.
“We believe the same path will follow for Facebook,” Milner said.
Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said he was “really looking forward to learning more about how these models are working in Europe and Asia.
“A lot of the investment is based on the theory that Facebook is still growing our different business lines,” he said.
“Right now, online and direct sales are the ones that are growing quickest, but over time we expect to be able to grow a large number of these things.”
Zuckerberg, 25, who founded Facebook five years ago while a student at Harvard, declined to release figures but said Facebook’s revenue growth was “greater than 70 percent year-on-year, even in this economic climate.
“We expect that we’ll be cash flow positive some time in 2010,” he said. “That means this relationship is purely buffer for us.”
In a statement, Zuckerberg said “a number of firms approached us, but DST stood out because of the global perspective they bring — backed up by the impressive growth and financial achievements of their Internet investments.”
Milner said DST’s “investment experience in other regions reveals the tremendous value social networking companies create as they redefine how people communicate and interact.
“By every important metric — user growth and engagement, technological innovation and financial performance — Facebook is on a similar trajectory, though on a much more global scale,” he said.
Privately held DST, which is based in Moscow and London, holds significant interests in Web companies in Russia and Eastern Europe such as Mail.ru, Forticom and vKontakte, according to the joint statement.
DST?s main assets account for more than 70 percent of all page views on the Russian-speaking Internet and its social networks are the market leaders in more than 13 countries, it said.
DST is around 32 percent owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, the Russian business daily Vedomosti reported.
A metals tycoon who was ranked in May as Russia’s 26th richest man by the Russian edition of Forbes magazine, Usmanov also owns a stake in the English football club Arsenal.
Other minority shareholders in DST include Goldman Sachs, the US fund Tiger Global Management and the Moscow-based investment bank Renaissance Capital, Vedomosti said.

How To Achieve Top Rankings in Weeks
You have employed every trick in the SEO handbook but that first page ranking in the search engines has been eluding you. You are about to give up. But before you do, perhaps you may wish to consider taking up article marketing.
First of all, what exactly is article marketing? Article marketing is the process of writing and submitting original content to article directories. This is not a new concept. For years, marketers have been publishing content in newsletters, magazines, and other publications to gain exposure for their businesses.
The process starts by submitting an article to an editor. If the content is suitable, the editor publishes the article, and the marketer gets some exposure. The process is then repeated with as many publications as possible. In theory, if each publication brings just one customer, then a hundred publications may bring a hundred customers. A hundred customers may just be what a new start-up is looking for.
On the Internet, the results can be astonishing. There are literally thousands of article directories on the Internet. With each article you submit, you are allowed to include two to three text links in the author resource box. Do note that most directories won’t allow you to include links in your article body. So keep them to your author signature.
Every time an article directory publishes an article, the website will experience an immediate surge in traffic. This traffic comes from the subscribed readers. After that, the surge dies down a little. The marketer now waits for the search engines to index and rank the articles. Once the article ranks in the search engines, the marketer will receive a constant stream of traffic from the indexed articles.
In addition, the links in the articles will also give the search rankings of the website a much needed boost. When someone writes and submits articles, the wheels of SEO have already started to turn, whether the marketer is aware of it or not. Each published article carries at least two links, pointing back to the author website. In other words, the author website gets high quality back links from well established authority sites whenever an article is approved for publication. But to achieve high rankings in the search results, you need to execute article marketing in the correct manner.
How to Prepare Your Articles for Submission
Article submission can take up a lot of time. So you want to be sure that you get the highest rate of approval from the editors. Here is what you should do to ensure that you get most of your articles approved.
Appropriate word count - Articles should ideally be 500 words and above. You can write whatever you want. But bear in mind that the editors are looking for valuable content that their readers will enjoy reading. So your articles should not be self promotional. All promotional materials should be included in the author resource box, which will appear at the end of the article.
Proper formatting - The article does not have to be perfect. But it has to be legible, and relatively free of grammatical errors. The style of writing is not that important. Most styles will be accepted. Use the hard return to separate paragraphs, and do not include any HTML. Not all article directories accept HTML tags in the article body. As long as the article is of decent quality, it should be approved.
Include target keywords in article title - Your target keywords should be included in the article title. This will increase the chances of your articles rising to the top in the search results. Having keywords in the article title is also part of SEO. When performing SEO, you want the search engines to find relevant content that links to your sites. Having your target keywords in the title is one way of letting the search bots know that the content in the article is related to what you have to offer on your website.
Write a catchy title and interesting summary - The title is very important because if it cannot capture the attention of your reader, you have just lost a potential visitor. Your title should be speaking directly to your target audience. The article summary should also be clear and concise. Don’t beat around the bush. You can elaborate further in the article body. For the summary, use short and powerful sentences.
Delivering the promise of your article title - Make sure that you stay on topic and deliver the promise in the article title. For example, if your article is about link building, then make sure you share some methods on how to build one way back links quickly. Don’t stray and write about your pet and then forget to go back to your main topic.
Using anchor text in links - Anchor texts are the words that are in between a set of HTML link tags. Before going into article marketing, you should already have a set of keywords to target. Use these keywords not just in your article title, but also as your anchor texts. For instance, if you are targeting the keywords “Search Engine Optimization”, use these words in your links. Don’t use words like “click here” or any other generic term.
Once you have the above in place, you can start submitting the articles to the article directories.
How to Submit Articles Quickly and Easily
Before you start submitting articles, you must first get a list of article directories. Your list should contain at least 200 article directories. Choose directories that have been around for years, and have high page rank.
The article submission process can be grueling if you don’t have the right tools to help you. As a business owner, you shouldn’t be doing such manual tasks yourself. You have more important things to do, like developing products, marketing, and so on. The process shouldn’t be consuming too much of your valuable time. Here are some quick suggestions.
Use a free form filling tool to help you - There are tools available for download, such as RoboForm that will help you fill up the forms at the article directories. Once you set this up, it’s just clicking and submitting. That will save you from having to copy and paste the article into each and every submission form. A great way to submit articles if you are on a shoe string budget.
Invest in article submission software - There is special software on the market that will help you submit your articles either on a semi-automated basis, or on a fully automated basis. If it’s a fully automated process, you don’t have to be actively involved. You will, however, have to let the software complete the submission process before shutting it down.
Outsource article submission - You can hire someone else to submit the articles for you. This can be a dedicated person that you work with, or it can be a professional service provider. The difference between this option, and that of using software, is that you don’t have to monitor the submissions. Simply place an order, and you can switch off your computer and go work on other stuff.
Article marketing, when done right, can bring short, mid and long term traffic. The short term traffic comes from the current readership base of the article directories. The mid to long term traffic comes from the search engines and the articles. As articles remain online indefinitely on the Internet, they remain as traffic baits and help to attract more visitors to your websites.
If you have done your keyword research, and heed the advice given above, your site could achieve top rankings in the search engines within weeks. Good luck!
The end of the Wordpress Comment Spam
Well, that’s not a new topic, but I want to share with you my bad experience with it, it SUCKS! As you all know all blogs eventually become a target of Wordpress Comment Spam, i’ve got 2000 spam comments in two weeks. Yeah, two weeks, that is very irritating to me.
Until now I was not able to figure out a safe way to prevent comment spammers from injecting spam links onto my wordpress posts. The Akismet plugin did really good job, but couldn’t get all of them.
As you know, looking at one week of post comments is around 1000-1400 comments and you’ll have to check them all so that you can figure our which ones are legit. Well you can imagine that browsing so much spam makes you pissed off, so at the end you just delete all comments - well that’s exactly what I did now.
Yesterday, after a whole year of not blogging, I’ve updated my wordpress to the latest 2.7.x and I found so much Anti-Spam tools built in. I’m extremely happy to find the Akismet+built in spam detection to capture 99.9% of all spam messages. This solves my issue once and for all. If you have the same problem upgrade your Wordpress and you’ll see how much better the new version is (not only for spam but with the new cool writing tools and superb Plugin Support.
This renovation most definitely means that I’m back to blogging so please stop by again. Thank you.
What is better - SEO or Social Media?
Posted by admin in Internet Marketing, SEO on May 17th, 2009
You know the value of analytics. Measure your traffic, test your content, etc. etc. etc.
You must have already heard that most traffic to websites comes from search engines, Google and Yahoo Search in particular. Well, nowadays it’s actually starting to change. Yes, Google and Yahoo Search still sends the lion’s share of traffic for most websites. And an aggregated traffic from all search engines is still greater than the traffic from social media sites. But there are some webmasters who are able to see more traffic coming from specific social media sites like Digg and Twitter than from Google and the other search engines. If that happens to you, what should you do?
In a word, you capitalize. Traffic is traffic. Monetize it.
That’s easier said than done. But if you can monetize search traffic then you should be able to monetize social media traffic. It all begins in the targeted marketing. If you market through social media effectively then you should be reaching your target audience. If not, then your social media marketing isn’t effective. You’re just getting traffic. But it’s untargeted, useless traffic.
All marketing begins with identifying the right target market. Then you decide on the media that you are going to use to reach that market. If you feel that social media is the right media then present your message at the right places to the right people and drive them to your website where you can close the sale. Online marketing is the same whether you do it through social media or SEO: The goal is to drive traffic and convert it.
Don’t let SEO control your website
Posted by admin in Internet Marketing, SEO on May 16th, 2009
I came across this post on this Toronto SEO company blog and I want to say that it is a very interesting topic for me. The topic is “Don’t let SEO control your website”.
These days, SEO sure isn’t a new thing for people who do online marketing. SEO is something very important to the internet marketing, it just like legs for internet marketing which is very important to make your website ranking jump to the highest position of the search engines. Well, that’s really necessary to have high position in the search engines, because that will bring many prospect that people would buy your product, and you’ll make even bigger money from a higher position.
Well, everyone wants a perfect SEO for their website, right? People searching and learning SEO from many SEO blogs. But, remember one thing: Don’t let SEO control your website. Yeah, I think that is a nice phrase. Many people target one nice keyword for their website, and they spread all the keyword in their website, and also links from other website. Actually, that was wrong way to get a great SEO. That will not affect the ranking of your website significantly. The right thing you must do is to target one nice keyword, but you must also target other keywords that related to your main keyword and you must spread it in your website and links from other website. Also you must remember not to put too many main keywords in your website. That will make your website looks spammy and search engine sure didn’t like it.
After you do all the hard work SEO for your website, and your website got into the highest position of search engines, but you still don’t get more visitors to your website, don’t give up. SEO is very important for your website, but it is not the most important thing to boost your visitors and incoming. The most important thing is the user’s experience. Try to make your website’s visitors comfortable with your website, and they will come to your website frequently even that your website didn’t get a good position in search engine.
Tips for Title Tag SEO
This is a little tips for optimizing the search engine results from the title tag for your site.
Your title tag should have your company name in the title. Most often it is best to be at the end, because it will be lesser important phrase. Your keywords need to be prominent in the tag. Some do not believe the company name should be in the tag. So this is up to you, but most argue that it helps someone find and recognize you. Thus if you leave it in, it should not be at the beginning of the tag but at the end. The only time a company name is at the beginning of a title tag is if your name is also the keyword.
Most of the individuals who use title tags and the company name in it do so for branding. The brand name helps boost the tag in the consumer mind, but does not affect your rankings. In fact your name is very easy to rank in other ways.
Search engine optimization is all about the ranking of your page. In that way the title tag which will be indexed is also highly influential in your success. Overall, when talking about title tags you have to understand what parts of the title tag are elemental. In other words, these aspects cannont be forgotten or left out. The construction of title tag could mean the difference between the first or second page in the listings.
By changing the order of the words and searching for the best or primary phrase, you can ensure you have success. Title tags are not the only area in which you can do SEO on, but it is often an area that is over looked.
